Tyler Buckley

Tyler Buckley is one of the few people in the world who specialize in Palliative Care. Palliative Care is care meant to improve the quality of life for patients with a life-threatening or serious disease such as cancer. It addresses the whole person and not just the disease. Since it is important to address the causes and side-effects of any disease as soon as possible, this includes any psychological, spiritual, or social problems. Tyler knows that palliative care can be provided in a hospital, outpatient clinic, long-term care facility, or at home by a licensed healthcare provider. Palliative care is available to anyone, regardless of age or stage.

Buckley has always been fascinated by medicine and its ability to heal people. This led him to pursue a degree in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. After working as a nurse for several years he decided to specialize in palliative care which he feels is one of the most undervalued and least understood aspects of modern medicine.

An avid skier, mountaineer, and nature conservationist, Tyler loves everything outdoors that is part of his beloved Pacific Northwest
